City of Bloomington Utilities Cancels Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for 15 addresses

BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) is canceling a boil water advisory for 15 addresses on Eagleson/Swain/University/1st scheduled for today at 1:00 p.m. ”This planned maintenance and corresponding boil water advisory will be updated, and notice will be provided shortly with a new time and date. Please find specific addresses and more information at bloomington.in.gov/utilities.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory when the pressure drops below 20 psi in the water main. Those affected should follow these instructions: 

  • Immediately after your normal water pressure is restored, run COLD water from a sink or tub until clear water flows from the faucet.
  • Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes before consumption.
  • It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.

Affected customers with up-to-date contact information with CBU Customer Service were alerted directly. Customers can use the form at bton.in/cbu24 to update their contact information electronically.
