BLOOMFIELD – Greene County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Bloomfield man late Tuesday night, February 25, following reports of gunfire near residences on North Whippoorwill Lane.
Deputies responded to the scene around 10:44 p.m. After conducting an initial investigation, they took William Attwood into custody.
Attwood now faces preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm (Level 6 felony) and unlawful carrying of a handgun (Level 5 felony). The sheriff’s office confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
