INDIANAPOLIS—The 2025 Indiana Animal Welfare Conference, hosted by Pet Friendly Services of Indiana, will take place on Saturday, March 29. Among the speakers at this year’s event is Dr. Tess Peavy, D.V.M., Founder and Executive Director of Public Vet, who will present a session on the critical role of personal health, disease prevention, and sustainable wellness in the animal welfare sector.

With over two decades of experience working as a high-volume veterinarian across multiple states and internationally, Dr. Peavy brings a wealth of knowledge on the health risks faced by animal welfare professionals. Her session will cover common challenges such as vector-borne illnesses, autoimmune disorders, and mental health concerns, shedding light on their impacts within the industry. Attendees will gain valuable insights into practical prevention strategies, including protective measures, early detection techniques, and holistic approaches to wellness.

“Animal welfare professionals dedicate their lives to caring for animals, but they often overlook their health,” said Dr. Peavy. “This session is designed to provide essential tools and resources that empower individuals to safeguard their well-being while continuing their vital work.”
