Trashion Refashion Runway Show returns to Buskirk-Chumley Theater April 13

BLOOMINGTON – The 16th Annual Trashion Refashion Runway Show, presented by Plato’s Closet, brings eco-conscious couture back to the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 7 p.m. Doors at 6:30 p.m.

This beloved event blends high fashion with sustainability, showcasing over 50 original, upcycled designs modeled by a diverse cast of community members.

A highlight of Bloomington’s art scene since 2010, the show promotes environmental sustainability and artistic creativity while challenging conventional notions about beauty and consumerism. Each of the juried show’s designs consists of at least 90% discarded materials, either rescued from the waste stream (Trashion) or transformed from underutilized garments (Refashion). The show is also committed to cultivating diversity among its models about gender, age, race, body type and other categories.

This fundraising event to support the Center for Sustainable Living features locally made couture sure to inspire the fashion creatives lurking inside us all.
