LINTON— Greene County General Hospital has added a trained therapy dog. Sunny Grace Greene, a 9-month-old Australian Labradoodle, has been named the hospital’s “Chief of Pawsitivity.”

Sunny recently completed seven months of specialized training at Ultimate Canine LLC in Westfield, Indiana, passing her therapy dog temperament test. According to Ultimate Canine LLC Owner Julie Case, Sunny is well-trained and prepared to provide comfort and support to patients, staff, and the community.
Sunny’s first day at the hospital is February 18th. She will spend the first few days with her trainer, Beth Johnson, who will also train designated hospital employees on Sunny’s commands and how to work with a therapy dog in a hospital setting. Sunny will reside at the hospital and participate in various activities, including patient visits with the chaplain, police officers, leadership team, and social services. She will also assist with speech therapy and visit different departments and clinics. Plans include community appearances at area events.

The hospital accepts donations through the Greene County General Hospital Foundation to support Sunny’s role. Donations can be made online or by scanning a QR code at the hospital.
