WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Washington Township firefighters, supported by multiple units, responded to a significant outbuilding fire Tuesday morning that threatened to spread to a nearby home. The fire was reported at 10:44 a.m. at a property located at 2948 North County Road 225 West in Washington Township.


Crews worked quickly to control the blaze, which posed a risk of reaching the nearby residence. Despite the challenges posed by freezing temperatures, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control with additional manpower, tankers, and support from the gas company.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The fire’s cause is under investigation.


The prompt and coordinated response from Washington Township Fire and assisting units helped prevent further damage and ensured the safety of those in the area.
Assisting were Daviess County Central Dispatch, Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Daviess Community Hospital EMS, Plainville Fire Department, and CenterPoint Energy.
