MARTIN CO. – Martin County immediately implemented a burn ban due to fire safety concerns.
The ban prohibits the following activities:
- Campfires and recreational fires, unless within a fire ring of at least 23 inches in diameter and 6 inches high.
- Open burning of any kind, except for grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane.
- The burning of debris, including construction or storm debris.
- Burn barrels used for open burning at residential structures.
Charcoal from grills must be fully extinguished before disposal. Firework use is limited to non-aerial devices.
Also under burn bans are Orange, Dubois, Gibson, Posey, Spencer, Switzerland, Vanderburg and Warrick Counties
