BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on Friday, May 26, when Bedford Police officers responded to 14th and L streets at 9:32 p.m. after a report of a possibly intoxicated man.
The caller reported the male was stumbling toward the roadway. The caller reported the male almost fell numerous times.
When police arrived they found 61-year-old Kevin Blackwell stumbling down the sidewalk near the roadway.

Officers stopped Blackwell who they say was intoxicated.
While speaking with Blackwell, he became verbally aggressive towards officers. In his hand was a brown paper bag that contained multiple unopened bottles of alcohol that he had just purchased
and a bottle of vodka in his back pocket that was nearly empty.
Blackwell admitted to being drunk but said he was only two blocks from his home.
Blackwell was detained on a charge of public intoxication.
Blackwell continued to be verbally aggressive with police.
