Ice Skating Lessons are offered at Frank Southern Ice Arena

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department are offering ice skating lessons at Frank Southern Ice Arena.

The Skating School curriculum features best practices from the Ice Skating Institute’s Learn-to-Skate program and U.S. Figure Skating’s Basic Skills program. Skaters ranging in skill from beginner to advanced progress from level to level at a steady pace. Levels are available from toddlers to adults.

All classes are 30 minutes in length. The session lasts 8 weeks. 

The registration fee is $80 for Bloomington residents and $90 for out-of-city residents.

Session & Dates:

  • Thursdays: October 13 – December 8
  • Fridays: October 14 – December 9
  • Saturdays: October 15 – December 10

Free Skating School Open House

A Free Skating School Open House will be held on Thursday, October 6th from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., and on Saturday, October 8th from 10:30 a.m. until Noon.

Those attending will meet the instructors, try on skates and get help choosing the best skating school level.
