Steven “Steve” J. Mills, 72, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021, at his residence.
He was born December 3, 1948, in Lawrence County to Cecil and Harriet (Reynolds) Mills. Steve graduated from Bedford High School, class of 1966, Vincennes University, and received a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. He was the owner/operator of Mills Markets and was a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club, Moose Lodge, and American Legion Gillen Post #33.
Survivors include his sons, Joel Mills, Chad Mills, and Cory (Chrissy) Mills; four grandchildren, Mariah Mills, Cailey (Kyle) Strait, Katie Mills, and Haley Mills; one great-grandson, Tate; one brother, Richard Mills; one nephew, Brad Mills; and one niece, Stephanie (Monte) Meier.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Steven Mills will be held at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Phil Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford Cemetery. The visitation will be Wednesday, March 17th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
