February 29, 1980 – November 4, 2026
Traviss Charles Marvin Baker, born February 29, 1980, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2026.
Traviss was a devoted son, father, partner, brother, and friend, whose strength, determination, and loving heart touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Mark Baker and Layla Bowles; his stepfather, Jerry Bowles; his beloved spouse and soulmate, Starla Neeley; and their precious daughter, Aubree Irene Neeley Baker, who was the light of his world. He is also survived by his sisters, Keli Mead and Michele Anderson and her husband, Chad Anderson; his brothers, Joseph Sanders and Jay Hickman; 10 nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Traviss and Starla shared a deep and abiding love. She was the love of his life, and together they built a life filled with joy, devotion, and cherished memories. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his light will continue to shine in the hearts of Starla and Aubree forever. His trademark eyebrows, striking blue eyes, and warm smile will remain treasured memories to all who loved him.
Becoming Aubree’s father was one of the greatest blessings of Traviss’s life. He treasured every moment spent with her and took immense pride in being her dad. His love for both Aubree and Starla was unwavering and gave his life profound meaning and purpose.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Traviss often used sports terms and analogies to explain life’s challenges and victories. Those who knew him will remember his sharp mind, quick wit, reddish-blond hair, warm heart, and remarkable sense of humor.
Throughout his life, Traviss faced challenges that would have discouraged most people. After experiencing seizures as a young child and later surviving a traumatic brain injury along with other serious accidents, he continued moving forward with courage, determination, and extraordinary resilience. His independence and perseverance became defining qualities that inspired everyone around him. No matter the obstacle, Traviss refused to give up.
He will be remembered most for his deep love of family, especially for Aubree and Starla, and for the strength with which he met every challenge. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, love, and perseverance that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with Jesus.
A private burial will take place on Thursday, November 11, 2026, at Dive Church Cemetery, with Pastor Corey Mosier officiating.
A memorial service celebrating Traviss’s life will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2026, at Clearview Baptist Church, 1401 22nd Street, Bedford, IN 47421. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories, laughter, tears, and stories of a life that touched so many hearts.
“Traviss, you were my hero. I love you, and I will see you again.”
Love, Mom
