BEDFORD — A Bedford woman is facing a warrant request for criminal trespass after police say she returned to the local Walmart property just days after being formally banned from the store.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Bedford Police Officer Taylor Daugherty, officers were dispatched to the Walmart store at 3200 John Williams Blvd. at approximately 10:43 a.m. on October 24, 2026. Store loss prevention personnel reported that 37-year-old Kyle Laws—who had been issued a trespass warning earlier in the week—was located on the property inside a vehicle at the pharmacy drive-thru.
Upon arrival, Officer Daugherty located a red 2005 Ford Focus parked in the pharmacy drive-thru lane. Laws was seated in the rear passenger seat alongside her husband, while a male friend was driving.
When questioned by police, Laws acknowledged she was aware of a previous retail theft incident and store ban from the week prior, but claimed she mistakenly believed the restriction only barred her from entering the physical store building rather than the parking lot or drive-thru area. She stated she had come to pick up prescription medication.
Store loss prevention confirmed to police that Laws had also been asked to leave the premises the previous day when attempting to pick up medication, though law enforcement was not called at that time. Laws was originally issued an official trespass warning on October 21, 2026.
Officer Daugherty submitted the case report to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office requesting that an arrest warrant be issued for Laws on a preliminary misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass. She was detained on November 3.
