William E. Grissom, Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away at his residence on October 22, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Bedford on January 25, 1940, to William E. Grissom, Sr., and Dorothy M. (Payton) Grissom. William graduated from Mitchell High School, served in the Indiana National Guard, and worked as a factory worker and laborer.
Survivors include his son, William E. Grissom, III, grandchildren, Tabatha L. Grissom of Speedway, Victoria L. (Grissom) Boyd and husband Parker A. Boyd of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Kevin M. Grissom of San Antonio, Texas, great-grandchildren, Jessica and Marceline, two brothers, Robert “Bob” Grissom and Paul Grissom, and his sister, Karen (Sue) Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Yvonne G. (Speer) Grissom, and brother, Donald Grissom.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Leesville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
