INDIANA — Indiana Governor Mike Braun released a video addressing legislation he signed into law this year regarding the state’s bail procedures. In the video, Gov. Braun expresses gratitude to State Senators Aaron Freeman and Eric Koch, alongside State Representative Chris Jeter, for their dedication to the legislation, which paves the way for a crucial ballot question on Nov. 3.
Following the video’s release, State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) issued a statement regarding Public Question 1.

“When Hoosiers cast their ballots during the upcoming election, they will be asked to vote on Public Question 1, which would amend Indiana’s constitution to allow judges to deny bail to dangerous suspects who they believe pose a threat to the community,” Koch said.
Koch noted that Gov. Braun’s video highlights the core purpose of Public Question 1 and underscores why voters should carefully weigh the constitutional amendment. The video also focuses on Senate Enrolled Act 2, legislation designed to establish vital guardrails for judges when evaluating whether to deny a suspect’s bail.
“I want to thank Gov. Braun for recognizing and educating Hoosiers on this important question, and I appreciate his support of our work,” Koch added.
