BEDFORD — A months-long investigation into narcotics distribution in Lawrence County culminated in the arrest of two following the execution of a search warrant last week.

Talia Blake, 45, of Bedford, was taken into custody on Thursday, September 24, 2026, after troopers with the Indiana State Police (ISP) searched her residence at 2043 Mt. Pleasant Road.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by ISP Trooper Chance Humphrey, Blake faces the following preliminary charges:
- Dealing Methamphetamine — Level 2 Felony
- Dealing a Narcotic Drug — Level 2 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine — Level 3 Felony
- Possession of a Narcotic Drug — Level 3 Felony
- Maintaining a Common Nuisance — Level 6 Felony
Also detained was Chase Wells, 26, outside his residence. According to a probable cause affidavit, Wells faces preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance and assisting a criminal, both Level 6 felonies.

Search Warrant Executed at Mt. Pleasant Road Home
Trooper Humphrey reported that ISP officers had been conducting a multi-month investigation into methamphetamine distribution across Lawrence County, which ultimately yielded probable cause for a search warrant at the home.
As state troopers and Lawrence County Sheriff Greg Day approached the residence to execute the warrant, an unidentified male opened the door to leave and was immediately detained. Officers then entered the home to secure the premises, encountering Blake as she exited a front hallway bedroom. She was detained in the living room and escorted outside.
While clearing the bedroom Blake had just exited, officers observed a clear plastic bag containing a crystal-like residue on top of the bed.
Seizure of Methamphetamine, Cocaine, and Controlled Substances
During a detailed search of the home, Trooper Humphrey and Detective Caleb Garvin uncovered significant quantities of suspected illicit drugs, including mail parcels containing controlled substances:
- Back Bedroom: Investigators located a glass plate holding a clear plastic bag with a crystal-like rock that field-tested positive for methamphetamine (weighing 27 grams with packaging). Next to the plate was a glass pipe with burnt residue, a USPS shipping box addressed to “Talia Lewis” at the Mt. Pleasant Road residence, and a camo bag containing Blake’s Indiana ID card, a small baggie of methamphetamine (1 gram), and several controlled substance pills.
- Front Bedroom: Officers discovered three plastic baggies with crystal-like residue and a second opened USPS parcel addressed to “Talia Lewis.” Inside the mailer was a plastic bag containing approximately 12 grams of a white powdery substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.
Investigators confirmed that Talia Blake and Talia Lewis are the same individual.
During a post-Miranda interview, Blake admitted to living at the Mt. Pleasant Road address for the past few months. She told investigators she had brought three mail packages into the house earlier that day and began opening them. Blake also acknowledged using methamphetamine regularly, identifying her source as an outside individual.
Upon reviewing Blake’s phone, which was authorized under the search warrant, officers documented text messages consistent with the sale and distribution of illegal controlled substances.
Blake was processed and booked into the Lawrence County Jail following the operation.
