Yolanda Holt, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 25, 2026.
Yolanda, known as “Yolie” to her friends and family, was born on July 18, 1951, in Houston, TX, to Marvin and Yolanda Hackney. She came to Indiana at the age of 21, where she met the love of her life, Darrell W. Holt. They were married on August 14, 1972, and enjoyed many years of wedded bliss. Yolanda was a retired bus monitor for the North Lawrence Community School Corp. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, the American Red Cross with her husband, Fraternal Order of the Eagles #654, the White River Bowhunters, and was an avid bowler.
She is survived by one son, Rudy W. (Regina) Holt; two daughters, Sophia (Jerry) Grow, and Becca (Billy) Claus; grandchildren, Robert (Meghan Katzman) Anderson, Nathaniel (Dandy Moore) Anderson, Kingston Moore, Paisley Moore, TJ (Courtney) Schoolcraft, Amber (Jason) Mosier, Autumn (Will) Arnold, Jimmy (Jayda) Parker, and Michael (Sabrina) Parker; thirty great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vanessa (Randy) Arthur, Tonia (Larry) Hitchcock; one brother, Noble Hackney; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Yolanda Hackney, her husband, Darrell W. Holt, one brother, Travis Hackney, one sister, Marie Kegel, three nephews, Clayton Luttrell, Eric Luttrell, and Nathan Hackney, one great-granddaughter, Everly Faith Schoolcraft, and her father and mother-in-law, Elbert and Helen Holt.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, October 2nd at 2:30 pm at White River Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 pm on Friday, October 2 nd at Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
