George A. Brinegar, 83, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born October 20, 1942, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Luther and Josie (Younger) Brinegar. He married Marcia Adams on March 22, 1969, and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2019.
George was a lifelong farmer and, along with his wife Marcia, milked cows for 55 years. He attended Shawswick High School and was of the Christian Faith.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda (Rick) Randolph-Rainey; his companion, Doris Dalton; a step-daughter, Christie Crider; a step-son, Steve (Cyndi) Dalton; grandchildren, Hannah Dalton, Danielle (Brian Burke) Todd, Derrick Crider, and Brittany (Chris) Delucia; great-grandchildren, Chloe Todd and Everly Delucia; a sister, Mary Lawson; a niece, Beth Ann Lawson; along with several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcia; a stepson, Robert Dalton; a granddaughter, Ashley; a sister, Martha Johnson; and brother-in-law, Dick Lawson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, with Pastor Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
