June Helen Hines, 94, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 25, 2026.
June was born on March 12, 1932, in Peru, Indiana, to Walter Daniel and Violet Olive (Rentzel) VonFange. She was a 1950 graduate of Seymour High School.
On July 21, 1950, June married the love of her life, Lloyd Francis Hines, in Seymour, Indiana. They shared sixty-nine years of marriage before his passing.
June was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Seymour. She worked as the bookkeeper for her husband and his business while also devoting herself to being a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
June treasured time spent with her family. She especially loved doing activities with her children and grandchildren and taking trips to Florida with her girls. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing euchre. An avid reader, June looked forward to visiting the library.
June is survived by her son, Fred (Jan) Hines; daughters, Linda (Thomas) Harleman, Laura (Joe) Marsh, and LouAnn (Rick) Engel; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Violet VonFange; her husband, Lloyd Hines; her daughter, Karen Kay Hines; her brother, Dan VonFange; and her sister, Marguerite Findley.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, Indiana, with Kevin Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, September 28, 2026, also at the Burkholder Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Seymour, the Alzheimer’s Association, or Donor’s Choice.
