BLOOMINGTON – On 09/18/2026 at 4:08 a.m., the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3400 block of W. Festive Drive for a report of an individual who had been shot and was being transported to a local hospital by personal vehicle.
Deputies encountered two male individuals at the hospital — one 21 years old and one 20 years old, both from Bloomington — who had sustained injuries from gunfire. It was determined the victims were sitting inside a vehicle at the time the shots were fired. Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and there is no ongoing safety issue in the area. Both individuals are being treated for non-life-threatening wounds. The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
