BEDFORD — Bedford’s Fall Clean Sweep is scheduled for Monday, September 21, through Friday, September 25, giving residents an opportunity to dispose of certain household items that cannot normally be collected with regular trash service.
The program permits residential items such as limited quantities of old tires, appliances, construction materials and carpet, along with other items that normally cannot be picked up through regular trash collection.
Extra household trash must be bagged and placed in a separate pile from the special items allowed through the Fall Clean Sweep program.
City officials note that the higher volume of work orders during the cleanup may mean that pickups take longer than usual.
The program is available to residents, not businesses. To participate, Bedford residents within city limits must call the Bedford Street Department at 812-279-9222 to place a work order for item pickup.
