Vigo County man dies following domestic dispute; Son arrested

VIGO COUNTY A domestic dispute in northern Vigo County turned fatal on Saturday, leaving a 56-year-old man dead and his 29-year-old son in custody facing multiple criminal charges.

Deputies with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an active domestic incident between a father and son. Upon arrival at the residence, officers discovered 56-year-old Kevin Clark unresponsive inside the home.

Emergency responders immediately performed CPR on Kevin Clark before EMS personnel transported him to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.

According to authorities, the son, identified as 29-year-old Levi Clark, fled the residence before law enforcement arrived. The Sheriff’s Office investigative unit immediately launched an investigation at the scene.

Shortly thereafter, officers located Levi Clark during a traffic stop. He was initially taken to a hospital for an examination of potential injuries. Following his release from medical care, Levi Clark was brought to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives also interviewed the victim’s wife and the suspect’s mother, who was present in the home during the initial altercation.

Following consultation with the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office, Levi Clark was booked into the Vigo County Jail. He currently faces initial charges including domestic battery causing injury, domestic battery with a deadly weapon, and interference with reporting a crime.

The case remains under active investigation by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.

Several local law enforcement and emergency services assisted during the response and subsequent investigation, including the Otter Creek Fire Department, TransCare, Terre Haute Police Department, Indiana State Police, Indiana State University Police Department, and the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office.
