BNL stops East 4-0 for first HHC win

COLUMBUS – Bedford North Lawrence posted its first Hoosier Hills Conference victory of the season, conquering Columbus East 4-0 during girls high school soccer acton on Tuesday.

The Stars (2-4 overall, 1-2 in the league) scored twice in each half while recording back-to-back wins. The Olympians fell to 0-5 overall (0-1 in the HHC).

In the first half, Summer Hughes started the scoring, followed by a goal from Jenna Mullis (via an assist from Roslyn Himmelspach).

In the second half, Hughes struck again at the 34-minute mark on a breakaway run, with a through ball from Benny Gould. Elizabeth Miskuf capped the scoring.

”We played another functional game,” BNL coach Jordan Himmelspach said. “We were able to find and connect on multiple passes, and control the possession most of the game. We are also finding multiple players to score, making us effective from all sides of the field.”

The Stars will host Jennings County on Thursday.
