February 11, 1943 – August 31, 2026
On August 31, 2026, Roseanna Godsey went home to be with Jesus, leaving this earthly life behind and entering into the eternal peace and love of her Savior.
Roseanna was born on February 11, 1943. Her parents were Ruth (Roberts) and Wayne Akles. On August 5, 1961, she married the love of her life, James Godsey. James preceded her in death on May 19,
2026.
She spent many years working and learning at RCA and Visteon. While at Visteon, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in organizational leadership and human resources. She made a meaningful impact while working by supporting teams in growing and learning to work efficiently together. She was a big supporter of education, always encouraging others with compassion to pursue their goals.
She found all the simple joys in reading a good book, cooking and baking, watching tennis, gardening and canning, country drives, genealogy, history, and bird watching, all hobbies that reflected her love of learning, nature, and the stories of the past. She also loved coaching and playing softball, and she loved to tell the memories of this time, which would have you giggling the whole time she told the stories. She made an impact and difference in the lives of those around her – she will be missed tremendously, but we take comfort in knowing we will see her again.
Surviving are two daughters, Jessica (Matt) Duncan and Susan (Richard) Deckard, and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
The family extends their heartfelt and immense gratitude to all those in the health care community who cared for, supported, and comforted both parents with such compassion and kindness.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3rd, in Owensburg Cemetery, with Doug Phillips officiating.
