Lawrence County Highway Department to pave final two roads on September 8

BEDFORD The Lawrence County Highway Department will complete its current paving schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 8, targeting two final dead-end roads off Tunnelton Road.

Crews are scheduled to pave both Oak Hill East and Oak Hill West.

According to Lawrence County Highway Department Superintendent Brian Sowder, work will begin around 7:30 a.m., with the goal of finishing all paving operations before afternoon school dismissals.

Because both locations are short, dead-end roads, they will be closed to traffic during active work hours. Weather permitting, both roads are expected to reopen fully by the end of the day.

Motorists and nearby residents are encouraged to plan ahead for temporary access delays while crews and equipment are on-site.
