INDIANA – Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced that President Trump approved a major disaster declaration through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
“I am pleased to share that my request for a major disaster declaration has been approved for multiple counties,” said Governor Mike Braun. “Thank you, President Trump. This critical support will help Hoosiers recover from historic storms and flooding. We’re grateful for this partnership as we work to rebuild, recover, and help communities get back on their feet.”
Governor Braun formally requested an expedited major disaster declaration on August 20th. Governor Braun is pleased to announce that the declaration has been approved for individual assistance and public assistance for multiple counties.
Counties not included in individual or public assistance may still be eligible pending additional review and data collection. The expedited approval for the counties listed below means that millions of federal dollars will now be available to assist in Hoosier communities’ recovery efforts.

Carroll, Dearborn, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Porter, Pulaski, Randolph, Rush, Tipton, Union, and Wayne Counties.
Counties Receiving Public Assistance
(Assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities)
Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Porter, Tipton, and Wayne Counties.
