Rosanna “Rosie” Roach died peacefully on August 20th at Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Rosie was the daughter of William and Vonda McBride Ira. She was a beloved sister to Remona Koop, Frank (Carolyn) Ira, and Nancy (Robin) Arthur. Rosie was married for 50 years to Scotty Jaye Roach and was the beloved mother of Michael (Tara) Roach, Steven (Shannon) Roach, Kevin (Haley) Roach, and Jennifer (Thomas) Quast. She had six grandchildren, Cole and Serenity Roach, Jude Roach, Harper Roach, Chandler and Magnolia Quast. Rosie greatly cherished her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews.
When Rosie wasn’t tending to her flowers or sitting on her back porch watching the birds, she could be found in her sewing room creating beautiful quilts. Rosie often prayed over her quilts and for those whom she was making them for. She retired from Shawswick Elementary School, where she was the school librarian. Rosie adored and treasured the children that she mentored throughout her career at Shawswick School. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and was devoted to her faith in Jesus Christ. We know that Rosie heard “Well done, good and faithful servant” upon arrival to heaven.
Visitation will be held at Day & Carter on Friday, August 28th, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church on Saturday, August 29th, at 11:00 am.
