INDIANAPOLIS – State Treasurer Daniel Elliott announced that the state of Indiana earned a total of $450,204,691 for fiscal year 2026.
During his first term, Treasurer Elliott has overseen $1,785,253,203 in investment revenue on General Fund dollars, far exceeding the 10 years prior to his arrival in office.

“The single most important job as treasurer is to safeguard taxpayer dollars,” Elliott said. “As treasurer, I’m proud to report that my team and I have once again exceeded expectations and can return a substantial amount of money back to our treasury.”
Elliott noted that these returns were earned despite fluctuations in the market caused by tensions in the Middle East involving Iran and Hamas as well as the war in Ukraine, which has disrupted markets.
“Every dollar we earn is one less dollar taken from Hoosiers,” Elliott said. “We have shown that with good investment policies, Indiana can be the envy of the nation.”
Gov. Mike Braun echoed these statements, commending Treasurer Elliott’s financial leadership.
“Indiana taxpayers expect their state government to be good stewards of every dollar, and Treasurer Elliott and his team are delivering on that responsibility,” Braun said. “Strong investment returns mean more value for Hoosiers and a stronger financial foundation for our state. Our state is always focused on responsible, conservative management of Indiana’s resources.”
These investment returns reflect a combination of sound fiscal policies, a willingness to adapt to market conditions and to take advantage of financial opportunities for Hoosiers. Treasurer Elliott leads an experienced investment team that ensures Indiana remains fiscally strong today while being well-positioned for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.
