COLUMBUS — Cummins Inc. delivered record financial results for the second quarter of 2026, driven by strong demand across both North American and international markets.

The Columbus-based engine manufacturer reported second-quarter revenues of $9.5 billion, a 9% increase compared to the $8.6 billion generated during the same period last year. Sales rose 8% in North America and surged 12% in international markets.
The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reached $1.7 billion for the quarter—an 18.4% jump from the $1.6 billion reported in the second quarter of last year.
Segment Performance & Revenue Highlights
All of Cummins’ business segments recorded top-line revenue growth during the quarter, led by solid demand in heavy-duty equipment and power generation:
- Power Systems: Led the company in overall earnings, generating $552 million while recording a 19% increase in sales.
- Accelera (Zero-Emissions): Launched in 2023 as Cummins’ dedicated clean energy and zero-emissions business, Accelera recorded the highest sales growth of any segment—up 38% year-over-year. However, it remained the company’s only operating segment to report a net loss, posting a $69 million loss for the quarter as investment in next-generation technology continues.
- Engine & Distribution: Sustained steady volume growth supported by strong North American commercial vehicle demand.
Upgraded Full-Year 2026 Outlook
Buoyed by its second-quarter momentum, Cummins management raised its full-year performance forecast for the second consecutive quarter.
The manufacturer now expects full-year 2026 revenue to grow between 10% and 13%, up from previous projections. Executive leadership attributed the optimistic outlook to sustained momentum in the North American on-highway truck market, as well as accelerated demand for power generation equipment and construction sales in China.
