BEDFORD — A 16-year-old female was cited and issued a promise to appear in court following an altercation outside a local fast-food restaurant on Monday evening.
Officers with the Bedford Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a fight between juveniles at Taco Bell at approximately 6:14 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026. Upon arrival, an IU Health Ambulance was already parked outside the establishment.
According to police reports, officers spoke with restaurant employees and witnesses who stated that staff had asked a group of individuals to leave the premises. Employees reported that the 16-year-old suspect became physical during the encounter.
One employee stated the juvenile kicked and struck her during the dispute. A second employee reported being slapped twice and pulled by her shirt after stepping in to intervene and stop the aggression. Dining witnesses inside the restaurant also identified the 16-year-old as the primary aggressor in statements provided to law enforcement.
Following a request from the store manager, official trespass notices were issued to those involved, barring them from returning to the property.
The 16-year-old female suspect was transported to the Bedford Police Department for processing. After consultation with juvenile probation, the juvenile was issued a Juvenile Promise to Appear for a court date on August 12, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. on charges of battery and battery by bodily waste. She was subsequently released into her father’s custody.
