Lois Marie Payne, 69, of Shoals, passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2026.
Lois was born February 5, 1957, to Clara Louise(Cooke) Landers and Richard Landers (both deceased). She leaves behind one sibling, Patricia Landers, and was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Landers.
Lois married Charles Robert “Junior” Payne on October 2, 1976, and they were together for nearly 34 years preceding his death. She had two children, Amy Troutman of Shoals and Missy(Chad) Dorsey, also of Shoals.
She had six grandchildren: Cody Troutman, Madison Dorsey, Malyia Dorsey, Tryndyll Dorsey, Kaylee Headley, and was preceded in death by her youngest grandchild, Rolen Wilson. Lois had one great-grandchild, Kinley Deleony Pena. She also had one nephew, Rusty Landers, and two nieces, Amanda Miller and Ashley Payne.
Lois was devoted to her family. She worked many years at Kimball Electronics, RJ’s Food Mart, Shoals Community Schools, and was Secretary for the Shoals Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #2442 for nearly 20 years.
Her favorite memories were of her grandchildren and motorcycle riding with her husband before he passed.
There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date, instead of a funeral, as she requested.
