SULLIVAN COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 48 in Sullivan County.
Beginning on or around Monday, July 27, crews will close State Road 48 between Shelburn and Jasonville. This closure will occur between U.S. 41 and Fry Street.
This road closure will allow for a chip and seal road maintenance project. This work is expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather.
The official detour for this project is U.S. 41 to State Road 54 to State Road 59. Local traffic will have access during this project. Local traffic will be controlled by a flagger during this work. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
