Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County opens registration for 2026-27 after-school programs

BEDFORD — Registration is now open for the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County’s 2026-27 After School Program, providing students throughout Lawrence County with a safe, supervised environment for learning, recreation and enrichment after the school day ends.

The program is free for children with a 2026-27 Boys & Girls Club membership, which costs $30 annually. Families must complete both the membership registration and the free after-school program registration through the organization’s Parent Portal before students can attend.

The Boys & Girls Club will offer programming at three locations during the upcoming school year.

The Limestone Unit will serve students in kindergarten through fifth grade from school dismissal until 6 p.m. The Thornton Teen Center will be open to students in grades six through 12 from school dismissal until 8 p.m. The Mitchell Community Schools site will serve students in grades four through eight from school dismissal until 6 p.m.

The after-school program is designed to provide students with a variety of educational and recreational opportunities while giving working families a dependable option for after-school care. Activities include arts and crafts, computer access, cooking club, gym games, STEM activities, homework assistance, and other enrichment programs.

Parents are encouraged to register early to ensure their children are enrolled before the start of the school year.

To complete registration, families must first purchase a 2026-27 Boys & Girls Club membership for $30 and then complete the free registration for their child’s specific school site through the Parent Portal. Both steps are required for participation.
