Rose B. Baker, 78, of Bloomington, passed away on June 27, 2026, at her residence.
Born August 10, 1947, in Monticello, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Robert and Ella Mae (Anderson) Wooten. Rose married Bernard Baker on July 7, 1979, and he preceded her in death on October 14, 2000. She worked as a dietary manager in Indiana and Kentucky. She was a member of Grace Full Gospel Church and loved her Lord. With all her struggles and pain, she never lost her faith in the Lord. She absolutely loved her family more than life itself.
She is survived by her children, Melinda “Mendy” (Tom) Bastin of Plainfield, Paul Harvey of Newberry, Ruby “Baby Girl” (Curtis) Pruett of Bloomington, Arvin (Shannon) Baker of Louisville, KY, David (Jill) Baker of Orleans; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean (Dave) Weckman of Louisville, KY; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two children: Hank and Melissa Harvey, three grandchildren: Marshall and Michael Richardson, and one in infancy, one great-granddaughter, Chesney Allen, and Aunt Tillie Jones (Second Mommy).
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 3rd, at Grace Full Gospel Church, with Pastor Brent O’Neil, Curtis Pruett, and Tom Bastin officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at Grace Full Gospel Church.
