BEDFORD – J.T. Bellush opened his title defense with a 2-under 70 during the first round of the Bedford Senior City golf tournament at Otis Park on Saturday.
Bellush, who finished last year’s event at 2-under 142 for 36 holes, took a four-shot lead over Craig Reiner and Jeff Hein heading into Sunday’s final round. Kim Henderson and Eric Nicholson were six shots back with 76s.
In the Bedford Women’s City tournament, defending champion Peggy Taylor posted a 79 to take a four-stroke lead over Brooklynn Cromwell.
The Junior City events are also being contested. Brayden Ohl carded a 1-over 73 in the Boys tournament, while defending champion Evan Tillett was three shots back after a 76. Emma Voris leads the Girls event after firing 87.
