Claude Keith Holmes, 92, of Springville, passed away on June 11, 2026, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford.
Born September 2, 1933, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Max and Myrtle (Long) Holmes. Claude married Janice Turner on November 7, 1956, and she preceded him in death on September 24, 2012. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a forklift driver and factory worker at Westinghouse.
He is survived by a son, Garry Holmes, and fiancée Sondra McWilliams of Springville; two grandchildren, Ricky (Robin) Holmes of Springville, and Eric (Cherie) Holmes of Bedford; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cruz, Celina, and C’Aira Holmes; a great-great-grandson, Remington Keith Holmes; a sister, Ann Marie Shelton of Springville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice, his parents, a grandson, Devon Holmes, three brothers, Gene, Bob, and Don Holmes, and two sisters, Gloria McArtor and Florence Ashcraft.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 15th, in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Ansel Deckard officiating. Burial will follow in Lowder Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Gillen Post #33.
