STATEHOUSE — State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford), a member of the Executive Committee of the Indiana General Assembly’s Defense Caucus, met with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s Defense Council at WestGate@Crane to discuss opportunities to strengthen Indiana’s defense economy and military assets.

This was Indiana’s first joint meeting of the Indiana Defense Council, the Indiana Legislative Defense Caucus, and the Governor’s Indiana Defense Task Force. The meeting brought together military leaders, state legislators, representatives from higher education institutions, economic development professionals, and regional stakeholders from across Indiana.
The meeting included updates from Commander Luis G. Martinez of NWS Crane and Indiana Economic Development Corporation President Josh Richardson on Indiana’s continued investment in defense and innovation.
Indiana continues to be a national leader in defense and has strong military installations, industry partners, research institutions, and regional leaders to advance opportunities across the state.
“This collaboration demonstrates Indiana’s commitment to strengthening our defense readiness and advancing innovation,” Koch said. “Crane is a vital economic asset to our region, and I am dedicated to working with my colleagues to bring even more jobs to the area in support of Crane’s mission.”
Koch is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Utilities, ranking member of the Senate committees on Commerce and Technology and Judiciary, and a member of the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law. He represents Senate District 44, which includes Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Orange counties, and a portion of Monroe County.
