MITCHELL — South Lawrence Utilities has issued an immediate boil order for a specific portion of its service area following a water main break on Wednesday morning.
The boil order is in effect until further notice for all customers located from Thompson Lane east on State Road 60 West and Old Highway 60 West to State Road 37.
During a boil order, consumers are advised to bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one to two minutes before using it.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for:
- Drinking and brushing teeth
- Washing dishes and preparing food
- Making ice and preparing baby formula
South Lawrence Utilities will notify the public as soon as the water main repair is completed, water samples have passed testing, and the order is officially lifted.
