Bedford Police Pension Board to meet on candidate medical review and officer disability application

BEDFORD The Bedford Police Department Pension Board has officially scheduled a two-part meeting for later this month to vote on a new officer candidate and review a disability application for a high-ranking department member.

The meetings will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Bedford Municipal Hall, located at 1617 K Street.

The board will first convene in a private Executive Session at 12:00 p.m. strictly to handle sensitive medical and personal paperwork. Immediately following, the board will open its doors to the public for a voting session starting at 12:15 p.m.

For community members unable to attend the public portion in person, the City of Bedford will live-stream the proceedings via its official social media platforms on Facebook (www.facebook.com/bedford.in.gov) and YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@CityofBedford-812/streams).

Executive Session (Noon)

By law, executive sessions are closed to the general public. During this fifteen-minute block, the board trustees will meet to:

  • Discuss the formal application and underlying paperwork regarding a disability claim for board member Major Blake Wade.
  • Review the official medical report for Dominic Adkinsson, who is currently tracking as an officer candidate for the department.

2. Public Session (12:15 p.m.)

The public is invited to observe the general business session, which will proceed as follows:

  • Call to Order
  • Reading and approval of the minutes from the board’s previous meeting held on April 2, 2026.
  • A formal vote to accept candidate Dominic Adkinsson into the local pension fund, which will subsequently allow the city to send his file to the state Public Employees’ Retirement Fund (PERF) for final approval.
  • Adjourn
