Arretas Oliver Johnson (Bud), 87, of Springville, passed away on May 30, 2026, at his residence.
Born October 15, 1938, in Warren, OH, he was the son of Henry and Grace (Earhart) Johnson. He married Toby Joanne Dye on January 1, 1963. Bud was a press operator at Packard Electric and a US Army veteran. He was a member of Bedford Baptist Temple.
Before moving to Indiana, he was a member of Leavittsburg Baptist Church, where he served as Choir Director, Deacon, and Financial Secretary for many years. He served as President of Chalker High School Band Boosters in Southington, Ohio, for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Toby, of Springville; two sons, Eric (Carla) Johnson of Springville, Edward Johnson, of Columbus, OH; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Donna (Gary) Lewis and Ruth Pfaff; two brothers, Dick (Joanne) Johnson, William Johnson; and sister-in-law Sher Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Johnson, a sister, Peg Dawson, three brothers: Jack Johnson, Edward Johnson, and Harold Johnson, and a daughter-in-law, Donna Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9th, at Bedford Baptist Temple, with Pastor Lyman Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at Bedford Baptist Temple. A graveside service will be held in the chapel of Crown Hill Cemetery in Vienna, Ohio, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11th.
