BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces upcoming overnight lane closures on State Road 46 (3rd Street) in Columbus beginning next week.
On or after the evening of Sunday, June 7, INDOT maintenance crews will begin spot paving operations on westbound S.R. 46 between Lindsey Street and Central Avenue.
Crews plan to work from approximately 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for up to three nights, weather permitting. Overnight lane closures will be used while work is in progress. At least one lane of westbound S.R. 46 will remain open at all times.
This work is not part of the current local project taking place along S.R. 46 in Downtown Columbus. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
