BLOOMINGTON — The Big Ten Conference has officially revealed the opponent matchups for the Indiana University men’s basketball 2026-27 season, outlining a challenging path for the Hoosiers as they enter their second year under head coach Darian DeVries.
The schedule features a mix of traditional regional rivalries and matchups against the conference’s newest West Coast members.
Home and Away Series
The Hoosiers will face three programs in a “home-and-home” series, playing both at the iconic Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall and on the road:
- Purdue
- Maryland
- Northwestern
Protected Home Court
Indiana will host seven programs for home-only matchups this season. Notably, the schedule brings both of the Los Angeles-based newcomers to Bloomington:
- Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Rutgers
- UCLA and USC
Road Challenges
Conversely, IU will head out on the road for single-play away games against seven opponents, including a grueling swing to the Pacific Northwest:
- Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, and Wisconsin
- Oregon and Washington
The Hoosiers are coming off an 18-14 campaign in DeVries’ inaugural season. As the program looks to turn the corner, the pressure is on to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023.

Historical consistency remains the primary hurdle for Indiana; the program has finished with a winning record in Big Ten conference play only once in the last decade. With the 2026-27 slate now set, DeVries and his squad have a clear map of the obstacles standing between them and a return to national prominence.
