INDIANA – Legacy Snack Solutions has issued a voluntary recall for specific batches of Giant Eagle Baked Pita Chips With Parmesan, Garlic & Herb. The recall was prompted by concerns regarding potential Salmonella contamination linked to a milk powder recall from California Diaries, Inc.

The milk powder in question was used in a seasoning blend applied to the surface of the pita chips. While the specific seasoning batches tested negative for Salmonella before production, Legacy Snack Solutions is moving forward with the recall out of an abundance of caution.
Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in:
- Young children
- The elderly or frail
- Individuals with weakened immune systems
Healthy individuals infected with Salmonella typically experience fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. In rare cases, the infection can enter the bloodstream, leading to more severe conditions such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis. No illnesses have been reported to date.
The recall is limited to the following product sold exclusively at Giant Eagle and Market District locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, and Indiana.
| Product Description | Size | UPC | Best If Used By Date |
