LAWRENCE COUNTY — A Mitchell man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he repeatedly went onto his ex-wife’s property despite previously being trespassed from the residence.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Deputy C. Pruett of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, 37-year-old Timothy J.P. Bowden is accused of stalking, voyeurism, and criminal trespass.
The investigation began on April 25 when deputies responded to a residence in the 3100 block of State Road 158 after a woman reported her ex-husband had come to the property asking about her children. Authorities said Bowden had previously been trespassed from the property in December 2025.
According to the affidavit, the woman told deputies that Bowden came to the back door and would not leave. She said she eventually allowed him inside briefly to see their son, who had suffered a leg injury, but later asked him to leave. Deputies said an argument had followed before Bowden left the residence.
The woman also told investigators she believed Bowden had previously entered the home while she was away at the hospital with her son. She reported interior cameras had been disabled and repositioned, and alleged lumber was missing from the property.
Deputies were unable to locate Bowden that night.
On April 30, the woman contacted authorities again and reported surveillance video showed Bowden walking around the outside of the residence shortly after midnight and looking into windows, including a bedroom window.
According to court documents, Deputy Pruett later viewed the videos, which allegedly showed a man walking around the home and bending down to look through a rear window.
Shortly after midnight on May 1, deputies observed a vehicle believed to be associated with Bowden traveling near the residence. Authorities followed the vehicle to a home on Highwater Road, where Bowden was confronted about the allegations.
According to the affidavit, Bowden told deputies he was visiting a friend. Investigators said Bowden acknowledged his relationship with the woman had been “on and off” after deputies questioned him about the incidents.
Authorities advised Bowden not to return to the property.
