FDA announces potato chip recall: Toss these bags for salmonella concerns

NATIONWIDE – Utz Quality Foods, LLC, issued a voluntary recall for certain batches of Zapp’s® and Dirty® brand potato chips after being notified that the seasoning powder used may contain Salmonella,  the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced.

Affected products were sold nationwide across multiple flavors, sizes, and batch codes, with best-by dates from late July through August 2026.

Currently, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled products. Symptoms of Salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain if you have eaten the chips.
