BEDFORD – On April 30, 2026, a Bedford woman was sentenced to the Indiana Department of Correction by Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline after failing to comply with the terms of her probation.Â
Mackenzie J. Henderson, 26, pleaded guilty to Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 6 felony, on August 7, 2025, as part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. She was originally sentenced to 910 days, with 30 days jail credit, and the remainder of her sentence suspended. She was ordered to serve 545 days on supervised probation in exchange for her guilty plea.Â

However, after failing to comply with the terms and conditions of her probation, on April 30, 2026, the Hon. Judge Cline sentenced Henderson to 850 days in the Indiana Department of Corrections and terminated her probation unsuccessfully.Â

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Arthur Pearcy stated, “Probation is an opportunity – an alternative to incarceration that depends on accountability and a willingness to follow the court’s conditions. In this case, the defendant repeatedly violated those conditions by continuing to use alcohol, failing to complete a court-ordered job skills program, and not appearing for scheduled hearings. These are not minor or technical violations; they demonstrate a pattern of disregard for the court’s authority and for the changes she was given. The sentence imposed today reflects the seriousness of those violations and our responsibility to uphold the integrity of the justice system.”
