Obituary: Jessie Lee Moseley

April 20, 1942 – April 22, 2026

Jessie Lee Moseley was born on April 20, 1942, and departed this life on April 22, 2026, at the Redcrest Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana.

Jessie was born in Lake Village, Arkansas, to Mr. Oliver (D.C.) Moseley, Sr., and Mrs. Mary Lee (Anderson) Moseley. He confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age, and joined New Hope M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Pastor E.L. Carter.

Jessie attended Central Public Schools in Lake Village, AR. He later relocated to Chicago, Illinois, and eventually to Bedford, Indiana. Jessie was known for his exemplary work ethic and was employed by General Motors as a die cast operator for many years until his retirement in July 2008.

Jessie was a man of many talents. He was anointed by God to master piano and organ without formal instruction. His singing voice was also God-blessed. He was the lead singer and musician for several churches throughout his lifetime.

Jessie took great joy in creating and was well known for designing and building operable toy vehicles and remodeling projects. His lawn and garden skills were superb. He willingly believed in helping others.

Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver D.C., Sr., and Mary Lee Moseley; four siblings: Evelyn Moseley Brooks; Lezear Moseley, Sr.; Lillie Moseley Jackson; and Oliver Moseley, Jr.

Jessie leaves to mourn his wife, Gertrude (Drane) Moseley. His children: Gregory (Felicia) Moseley of Harker Heights, TX; Twins: Kenneth & Keith Moseley, and Stacey Moseley Ragston of Memphis, TN, Kimberley (Raymond) Marsh; Kyesha (Robert) Moore; and Kelley Moseley of Chicago, IL. La’Treva Puckett of Minneapolis, MN; Ryan Drane of Bedford, IN; and Quentin Moseley (Candy) of Newburgh, IN. Siblings: Pastor Ethel Shannon, of Forest Park, IL; Gladys (Ira) Jackson and Bobby (Josie) Moseley of Crossett, AR; Roy (Jennifer) Moseley of Greenville, MS; Berlinda (James) Cole, and Benny Moseley of Lake Village, AR; and Doris (Lorenzo) Woods of Wilmot, AR; A host of cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Day and Carter Mortuary. Pulpit officiated by Pastor Donald C. Griffin, Sr., 2nd Baptist Church, Bedford; and Dr. Bruce R. Rose, 2nd Baptist Church, Bloomington, IN.

Visitation at Day and Carter Mortuary on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Viewing and Funeral Service on Saturday, May 2, 2026, will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford. Repast immediately following.
