DEKALB COUNTY – The Indiana State Police is investigating a crash that resulted in the death of one person.
On April 20, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Indiana State Police responded to the area of the 325 mile marker of I69 in Dekalb County to investigate a single-vehicle crash.
The investigation shows that a 2010 Ford E-350 Cargo Van was traveling Northbound on I69 at the 325 mm when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree.
The sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased. The Dekalb County Coroners’ Office has identified the driver as Connor Sheets (30) of Columbia City, Indiana. The family has been notified.
The Indiana State Police Troopers at the scene were assisted by the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department, Auburn Fire Department, Garrett Fire Department, Parkview EMS, and the Dekalb County Coroner’s Office.
