H. Maxine Pridemore, 94, of Mitchell, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Redcrest Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born in Huron on July 11, 1931, to Fred and Pearl Mundy. She married Gerald “Red” Pridemore on July 16, 1954, and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1998. She retired from Carpenter Body Works in 1993. She later worked at Day & Carter Mortuary until her retirement in 2016. She was a member of the Mitchell Church of Christ.
She is survived by one son, Rick Pridemore of Bedford; two daughters, Joy (David) Reynolds of Buddha, and Pam (Brian) Bolton of Bedford; Four grandchildren, Bryce (Megan) Bolton of Mitchell, Brandon (Lizzy) Bolton of Greenwood, Jonathan Reynolds of Florida, and Jace Reynolds of Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Logan (Hanna), Landon (Kennedy), Layton, Lawson, and Liam Grissom, Juliana, Jillian, and Asher Reynolds, Berkley, Palmer, Paisley, and Bennett Bolton; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Brian Grissom, a brother Hershel Mundy, and four sisters Virginia Bundy, Frances Bosell, Thelma Mason, and Dorothy Workman. Also preceding are two siblings, Roscoe Mundy and Edith Lucille Mundy, both in infancy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, April 20th, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Brian Bolton officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 19th, at Day & Carter Mortuary. Memorial contributions can be made to Bread of Life c/o Mitchell Church of Christ.
