Purdue and ARCS foundation partner to support science scholars

WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue University and the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation have established a partnership to include Purdue in the ARCS National Scholar Award Program. This agreement marks the first expansion for ARCS into Indiana and aims to support domestic doctoral students in scientific fields critical to national security and innovation.

The program will provide three years of private, unrestricted funding for doctoral students conducting research in high-impact and emerging technology areas. Initial support will be directed toward scholars in biomedical, electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering. These focus areas are intended to strengthen Purdue’s initiatives in advanced computing, semiconductors, and the One Health program.

According to Haley Oliver-Jischke, Purdue’s senior vice provost for academic and student success, the investment is designed to power the talent pipeline for Indiana’s Hard Tech Corridor. ARCS Foundation President Jill Bray noted that Purdue was selected as the inaugural partner for this national initiative due to its leadership in engineering and applied sciences.
