WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue University’s College of Agriculture has secured the No. 3 spot in the United States and ranks sixth globally according to the 2026 QS World University subject rankings. The program was recognized for its strengths in research, discovery, and student employability, placing it behind only Cornell University and the University of California, Davis within the nation.

The college is noted for its diverse majors in fields such as agricultural economics and food, life, and natural resource sciences. A significant contributor to these rankings is the agricultural and biological engineering major, which has held the No. 1 position in U.S. News & World Report graduate school rankings for five consecutive years.
Under the leadership of Dean Bernie Engel, the college continues to focus on innovations in food security, health, and sustainability. It also serves as a primary component of the university-led One Health initiative, which addresses challenges at the intersection of human, plant, and animal health.
